DemoTools
is a software system for demographic research and education. It is
organized like a toolbox and will eventually include a whole range of
specialized software modules: simulation models, mathematical procedures,
and visualization tools. These specialized modules will all work together
on the same database. |

This
software module for cohort-component population projections is now
available on CD-ROM. |

This
software module is already under development. Within the next 3 months it
will come into Beta-testing phase and we hope to be able to release the
software in the first quarter of 2001. |

The
following tools are only in their conceptual stage. Since they
would be focused on advanced demographic research, we are not sure whether
we can develop these software packages on a purely commercial basis. The
potential market might be too small. But maybe some institution would be
willing to fund (at least partially) the development costs. Currently, the
