The
first module in the DemoTools software system is a
program for cohort-component population projections. Although this
application is very easy to use, it is powerful and flexible. |

The
module includes default input data (compiled and calculated from the 1998
United Nations World Population Prospects) for 188 countries and 30
regions worldwide. So you can start to project populations immediately -
without time-consuming data preparation. |

The software,
however, not only runs with the default input datasets: with its
Professional and Advanced Versions you can
import your own custom input data; and you can modify all projection
parameters. Data handling is extremely easy: all custom datasets
(consisting of seven separate input and parameter files) can be saved for
later use and re-loaded with one click of your mouse. |

The
software is highly expandable: all
input and output files are open and in plain ASCII format - so you can easily load
them into MS-Excel or any other spreadsheet for further analysis. |

Moreover, you can copy and
paste all on-screen tables and charts into your own documents for
publication. Copy and paste works with MS-Word,
MS-PowerPoint, Adobe Photoshop, CorelDraw, or any other standard Windows
