Top Ten Countries in Gross National Product, 2005 and 2050

According to a recent projection from Goldman Sachs, China will have overtaken the United States in GNP by 2050. Also see the dramatic drop of Germany, France and Italy in this GNP ranking from rank 3 to 8, 6 to 9, and 7 to 10, respectively. It seems there is not much chance for the European Union of becoming the "leading economic region"  anytime soon (as some European politicians have fantasized).
