DemoGraphics '96
This software was developed for the
United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) in Association with the
Netherlands Interdisciplinary Demographic Institute (NIDI). DemoGraphics
'96 was designed as a tool for population education - making it easy to
present demographic trends for all countries and major regions worldwide
in animated charts, maps and moving age pyramids. The software
also includes more analytical data displays, such as dynamic
scatter plots which can show the relationship between two indicators over
time.

Population Projections
This software package is designed
as a toolbox for demographers and other researchers, who need tools for
data analysis and population projection. This module is a
state-of-the-art population projection using a cohort-component method.
It is closely linked to the Population Estimates of the United Nations
Population Division. The current version includes the 2000 Revision of
their population estimates.

working paper analyzing the 1996 Revision of the United Nations World
Population Trends. While some of the population estimates and
projections are obviously outdated (primarily due to the HIV/AIDS
epidemic), the conclusions, I believe, are mostly valid.

ChinaFood
The ChinaFood CD-ROM not
only includes in-depth analyses of China's food security problems and
prospects but also a large number of inter-linked tables, figures, maps,
and animations, which provide background information on China's
agriculture and rural development and on many other aspects of the
country's food system. I developed this CD-ROM when I worked as a senior
research scholar at the IIASA Land-use Change Project.
